We are pleased to announce the receipt of a Major Gift commitment of $100,000 through the Alumni Association of Hudson Catholic, Inc. on July 1st, coincident with the start date of new Chief Advancement Officer, Gary Ferrari, ’73.

This wonderfully generous gift comes from Laurence M. Basinski, Class of 1970, a recently retired Local One IATSE Theatrical Stagehand, New York City.

Larry has set up the gift to be administered through the Alumni Association Hudson Catholic High School, Inc.

Alumni Association president, William McGrath, ’79, and Larry Basinski, presented the gift to Hudson Catholic President/Principal, Richard Garibell, and Chief Advancement Officer, Gary Ferrari, on the Hudson Catholic campus.

The gift will be used primarily to fund the $1.4 million in financial assistance committed to the schools 540 students enrolled for the upcoming year and will provide funding for school programs and support for Hudson Catholic’s Office of Development and fundraising revenue streams.

Mr. Ferrari stated: “We are eternally grateful to our many generous alumni, the school’s ‘Guardian Angels,’ and especially for Mr. Basinski, who, through his many years of selfless giving of time, talent, and treasure, stands unmatched in his expressed fidelity to his Alma Mater. His amazing gift is a blessing to Hudson Catholic. He has done this as a way of saying thank you and giving back. His gift is offered in tribute and to honor the Christian Brothers’ legacy of Lasallian education at ‘The Miracle on McGinley,’ Hudson Catholic Regional High School.”
